2018 GreenBiz Report Linked SANANBIO Investment to Las Vegas Oasis Farm
A GreenBiz article republished by California’s agriculture department described SANANBIO-backed Oasis Biotech in Las Vegas and distinguished its completed first phase from future expansion plans.
According to a GreenBiz article republished on August 6, 2018 by the California Department of Food and Agriculture, Oasis Biotech opened a large indoor farm in Las Vegas with financial backing associated with SANANBIO.
The article described an investment of approximately US$30 million at that stage. It reported that the farm’s first production phase had been completed and gave a production capacity estimate of 1,500 pounds of leafy greens per day. It separately described a second phase intended to increase capacity, and an anticipated initial commercial delivery to a local distributor.
These are historical project and capacity descriptions, not independently verified long-term sales or actual daily harvested volumes. The report does not demonstrate that subsequent expansion targets were achieved.
The article is useful for understanding SANANBIO’s early involvement in a North American commercial vertical farming initiative. It should not be conflated with the separate 2019 Crop One partnership story, which is already in the website archive.
