Okayama University Wheat Trial Used SANANBIO Horticultural LED Fixtures

SANANBIO documented Japanese researchers using its Toucan and Hawk-family lamps in a wheat life-cycle research trial at Okayama University in 2020.

SANANBIO's Chinese customer archive records a wheat cultivation research application at Okayama University, Japan. The story, published on September 1, 2020, identifies researchers using its Toucan (Dazu'niao) and Hawk-family (Feiyan) horticultural LED fixtures while examining wheat growth across its cultivation cycle.

The company explained that the research team was interested in customized spectra suitable for controlled research settings. It reported positive initial observations during the wheat seedling phase and stated explicitly that the full-cycle experiment was still in progress when the article was published. This makes the source evidence of equipment use in a university trial, not proof of successful full-cycle grain production or quantified breeding gains.

For crop scientists, a controllable LED system can help reduce variation in light exposure between experimental treatments. However, scientific conclusions depend on the experimental design: intensity, photoperiod, spectrum, cultivar and controlled comparisons all matter. SANANBIO's brief project note does not report the measured PPFD, yield, grain weight, number of replicates or an independently reviewed final result.

This item is a historical application record highlighting the use of SANANBIO lighting for high-light-demand research crops. It should not be interpreted as current university endorsement or a completed peer-reviewed wheat study. Source: SANANBIO Chinese application story, September 1, 2020.
