SANANBIO Hosted China Smart Plant Factory Academic Meeting in Xiamen
SANANBIO reported hosting a September 2023 academic meeting in Xiamen marking the establishment of a smart plant factory branch of the Botanical Society of China.
An official SANANBIO report dated September 27, 2023 describes a two-day meeting in Xiamen on September 26–27 focused on intelligent plant factories. The event accompanied the establishment of a dedicated smart plant factory branch within the Botanical Society of China and was hosted by the company.
According to the event report, more than 200 representatives attended from 40 research organizations and 29 enterprises. The program covered crop breeding in plant factories, cultivation systems, intelligent equipment, production management and applications of artificial intelligence. Around 20 specialist presentations were reported.
The participants also visited SANANBIO’s plant factory demonstration facilities. This aspect of the meeting connected academic discussion with the engineering challenges of controlled-environment cultivation, such as automation, interdisciplinary system integration and commercialization.
