2024 Engineering Paper Studied Container Farm Climate with SANANBIO LED Strips

A 2024 Sustainability paper modeled heat and moisture behavior in a container farm whose documented physical reference used SANANBIO LED strips.

According to research published in Sustainability on July 17, 2024, a team led by researchers from Tongji University investigated the thermal environment of container farms. The paper combined physical modeling, computational fluid dynamics and an experimental design to study the effects of climate-control settings and artificial lighting.

The physical model was based on a container farm in Shanghai, China. The authors described five planting levels on each side of the container, with 40 LED light strips per level, identifying SANANBIO as the lighting supplier. The study treated air supply temperature, humidity, flow rate and lighting as possible drivers of uneven conditions across the cultivation area.

Results highlighted the importance of air-supply conditions and the light source when evaluating temperature and humidity patterns. The findings apply to the specific modeled configuration; they are not an independent claim about the performance, capacity or energy consumption of SANANBIO’s ARK container farm product.

For engineering teams designing controlled-environment farms, this research offers an evidence-based example of SANANBIO lighting referenced in container-farm environmental modeling.
