Xinhua Documents SANANBIO Automated Plant Factory in Fujian
A May 2024 Xinhua photo report documented robotics, LED cultivation and vegetable production at a SANANBIO plant factory in Anxi, China.
According to Xinhua on May 10, 2024, a SANANBIO plant factory in Anxi County, Quanzhou, Fujian Province, was using an intelligent plant-cultivation system that combined controlled-environment production with LED lighting. The agency photographed the site on May 8, recording seedlings, transplanting work, automated equipment, crop monitoring and packaged vegetables.
Xinhua described the installation as a new-generation automated plant factory and stated that it could support industrial production of 1.5 tonnes of vegetables a day. The report also identified nearby cities, including Fuzhou, Xiamen and Quanzhou, as potential markets for the production. This is a reported capability of that facility at the time, not a general guarantee for every SANANBIO installation.
For commercial growers, the coverage illustrates how lighting, cultivation equipment and production handling can be brought together in a controlled indoor environment. Unlike a planned project announcement, the images document physical equipment and agricultural activity at the site in May 2024. The source photographs remain Xinhua material and should not be copied to a commercial website without appropriate rights.
