Kinghaven Farms Receives Canadian Support for Automated Leafy-Green Production

Canada announced CAD 5 million in support for Kinghaven Farms’ new greenhouse automation and climate-control systems.

According to Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada on September 17, 2026, Kinghaven Farms in King City, Ontario, received an announced CAD 5 million contribution through the AgriInnovate Program for technology at its newly built controlled-environment greenhouse.

The project includes automation, climate control and a mobile gutter cultivation system designed to improve precision and reduce labor requirements. The government describes a facility capable of producing up to two million kilograms of baby leafy greens per year under its intended operating capacity. The statement does not mean two million kilograms have already been harvested.

The operator sells greenhouse-grown leafy greens under the Haven Greens brand. This case is relevant to commercial buyers comparing greenhouse automation with fully indoor farms: both may rely on controlled irrigation, nursery planning and crop-handling systems. The financial support and proposed capacity are reported program and facility details, rather than independently measured profitability figures.
