Philippines Launches School Hydroponics Initiative with National Expansion Plans
A Philippine school hydroponics initiative began with two greenhouse facilities and announced a longer-term plan to reach more schools.
VerticalFarmDaily reported on October 30, 2026, that the Philippines launched a school-based hydroponics initiative under the Agri Tayo, Lab for All program. The opening activities involved Las Piñas National High School and Parañaque National High School, which received hydroponic greenhouse facilities.
The program is intended to introduce students and communities to water-efficient cultivation in places with limited land or suitable soil. It links agriculture education with practical exposure to greenhouse equipment, nutrient management and growing methods.
The initial plan calls for greenhouse systems in 200 schools, with a longer-term ambition of reaching 700 units. Those figures are program targets rather than completed installations. The report does not identify SANANBIO as an equipment supplier. The news is a useful example of how hydroponics can support educational programs, especially where indoor and greenhouse growing systems are being introduced to new users.
